Lennox students participate in Microsoft #DigiCamp

Lennox Middle School students were selected by the LA County Library to participate in a Microsoft DigiCamp on Thursday, providing students with a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet President and Corporate Vice President of Microsoft U.S. Kate Johnson and earn a Microsoft Certification in Coding.

Through a Digital Alliance with Microsoft, the LA County Library hosted the Microsoft DigiCamp at Lennox Library, inviting 50 middle school students the opportunity to be exposed to careers in technology and learn how to code.

Students heard inspirational speeches from various leaders such as the LA County Board of Supervisor of Second District Mark Ridley-Thomas, LA County Library Director Skye Patrick, Vice President of Microsoft’s Enterprise Commercial Cathy Bender, and Director of Citizenship and Public Affairs for Microsoft Celeste Alleyne.

Students learned about careers in technology and received hands-on training from Microsoft experts in coding, robotics, and virtual reality. At the end of the day, they earned Microsoft Certifications in Coding.
