Bullying and Harassment Prevention

 

Lennox School District is committed to providing a safe school environment where all individuals are afforded equal access and opportunities. The district's academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities shall be free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any individual based on the person's actual race, color, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression.

Cyber or Social Media Bullying

 

Cyber bullying or Social Media Bullying includes the creation or transmission of harassing communications, direct threats, or other harmful texts, sounds, or images as defined in Education Code 48900. Cyber bullying also includes breaking into another person's electronic account and assuming that person's identity in order to damage that person's reputation.

 

Any person that has been a victim of, or witnessed bullying or harassment via social media is highly encouraged to report the incident immediately to an administrator, teacher or other adult personnel on campus. Students have an option of reporting the incident anonymously through the Bullying/Harassment Complaint form located at the school or through the WE TIP HOTLINE at 1-800-78-CRIME (1-800-782-7463).

Sexual Harassment

 

Sexual harassment is misconduct which undermines the integrity of the employment relationship and the dignity of the individual to whom it is directed. It is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, when:

  • submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or

  condition of an individual’s employment;

  • submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for

  employment decisions affecting such individuals; or

  • such conduct unreasonably interferes with an individual’s work performance or

  creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working or learning environment.

    The DOD Safe Helpline is a crisis support service designed to provide sexual assault services for survivors, their loved ones, and other members of the DOD community.

Nondiscrimination Policy

 

Lennox School District programs, activities, and practices shall be free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on actual or perceived race, color, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression; or on the basis of a person’s association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.

 

If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying, you should immediately contact the school site principal and/or Director of Student Services and After School Programs (CCR Title 5 and Title IX Officer) Becki Blanco. A copy of LSD’s uniform complaint policy and LSD’s nondiscrimination policy are available upon request.

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
